The heart and hands behind Elegance by Emily here in Chesapeake, Virginia. My love for beauty began years ago with YouTube hair and makeup tutorials. When my “big break” as a makeup guru didn’t happen, I found my true passion as a hairstylist. Over 7 years later, I’m even more in love with this industry, and the amazing women I get to connect with every day!

While most stylists offer a great first visit, you may have slowly felt that ‘personalized experience’ dwindle over time. My approach is all about you. Every visit with me is one-on-one, in a spa-like atmosphere with personalized touches like essential oils and hand massages. I’m here not just as your stylist, but as a partner in your hair journey and a listening ear for your life journey. And for the moms out there, I know self-care can be hard to fit in, so feel free to bring your little ones along if you need.

I specialize in reds, copper, and low-maintenance blonde transformations for busy women and moms who want beautiful, easy-to-maintain, styles. I also love doing bridal and special occasion hairstyling, and even have a tattoo of bobby pins on my arm to prove it! If you’d like a private hairstyling lesson to master your daily look, I offer that too—because I believe self-care includes feeling confident long after you leave the chair.

Outside the salon, I’m a wife and mom of three boys, including my bonus son. My husband and I love spending family time at local breweries, farmers markets, and community events. Supporting local businesses is close to my heart—I grab coffee from nearby cafes (check out my “Personalized Experience” page for a list of the closest ones to the salon!) and shop at small boutiques when I can. I even found my wedding dress on Etsy!

Fun Facts:

• I love creating content and have a passion for the arts. Choir, dance, and theater was a big part of my life growing up. 

• I’m all about deep, fun conversations—whether it’s pop culture conspiracies, documentaries, or fascinating cautionary tales. No topic is off-limits; I love hearing stories from all walks of life!

• If I had to choose a last meal, it would be my husband’s seasoned medium sirloin with a loaded baked potato and a warm homemade brownie paired with Cold Stone Creamery ice cream for dessert!
